Congratulations to Sierra Garcia, 5th grade, for winning Woodlawn's 2012 Spelling Bee! She will go on to compete in the Regional Spelling Bee at the Solomon Ortiz Center on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Good luck, Sierra!

Responsibility  is the month of January's character trait. Responsibility is knowing and doing what is expected of me!  Students will aim to:

• keep their promises. 
• not make excuses. 
• do all of their work to the best of their ability.
• make things right when they do wrong.
• know and do their duty. 

Principal's Message
Welcome Back, Jaguars!  Time to start those routines, parents!  Students need to go to bed at a reasonable time and get up and get to school before the bell daily.  Attendance is extremely important for the success of your child in school.  Classrooms open at 7:50 and students will eat breakfast in the classroom.  If you should have any questions regarding attendance, please talk to any of our front office staff and they can assist you.

A number of forms will be going home on the first day of school.  Please take the time to look everything over and return all of the forms that need to be signed.  That's a tremendous help to our teachers.

It's going to be an AWESOME year here at Woodlawn Elementary!
